January Wrap-Up:

I had a pretty good reading month in January! I read 7 books, so here they are!

8755776

The first book I read in 2014 was City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. Now we all know how much I love TMI so there really isnt much to say about this book except for the fact that I found the beginning really slow, but I was not dissapointed because it got really intense, really fast. I NEED COHF RIGHT NOW LIKE PLS CASSANDRA CLARE GIVE IT TO MEEEEE. 4.5/5 stars

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green was a nice book to pick up after reading the entire series of TMI because of the switch in genre. John Green never fails to make you fall in love with his characters. I tabbed a whole load of pages and quotes, most of them being Hassan's lines. The main character Colin was a brainiac/prodigy/genius and I thoroughly enjoyed reading his equations and graphs and trying to make sense of them (lets be real here, i suck at math so they made no sense to me haha). 5/5 stars

OK, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin is one of my new favourite books/series of all time. I JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN WITH THIS BOOK IT WAS JUST SO GOOD AND JUST UGH NOAH SHAW. NOAH SHAW. NOAH SHAW. NOAH SHAW. NOAH SHAW. (if you've seen my video wrap-up/tbr which is linked at the top of this post, you will see my love for noah shaw) Dude, Noah may be tied for my favourite character along with Jace. Shocker, I know, because you guys now how much I love Jace. Ok anyways I just really loved his character. He was mysterious, sarcastic, brITISH, attractive, tall, protective, BRITISH, laid-back, funny, oh and did I mention he's freAKIN BRITISH. Uh ya as you can tell I kinda maybe like Noah Shaw, just a bit.... Mara Dyer was also a really awesome character and that's weird for me to say because usually female MC's bother me a bit because most of them are obsessed with the boy in their life, but that wasn't really the case for Mara. She was more concerned with what happened to her, and trying to find that stuff out than she was with Noah. This book was really interesting and kind of creepy and overall amazing. I highly recommend it. 5/5 stars

I liked The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin even more than the first one mainly because there was a lot more going on, now that we knew what happened to Mara. We got more Noah in this book, which resulted in me flailing and freaking out over him. THE ENDING ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME. I DIED. I AM DEAD. GREETINGS FROM THE GRAVE. Actually though, this book was amazing and the ending crushed me and I NEED THE THIRD BOOK. 5/5 stars

Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken was a pretty awesome sequel in a pretty awesome series. Not gonna lie, Ruby kind of bothered me sometimes, but for the most part I liked her. This book was really intense at parts and I think I like this better than the first one!! I don't want to spoil anyone so I'll end it here. 5/5 stars

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan was a really really cute, short & fun read. The idea of leaving a notebook with dares for someone to find is really cute. I have a red moleskin notebook (exactly the one that Lily uses in the book) so I was kind of fangirling, don't know why. Dash was a really nice guy and I wish he was real!! I really like the alternating chapters between Dash & Lily because you got to learn about both characters. I really recommend this book if you're looking for a quick, read. 5/5 stars

Hmm... where to start with this book. I actually really The Diviners by Libba Bray because it was the first book I've read that was set in the past. The 1920's is a fun time period to read about and it was a nice refresher in between a bunch of dystopian. The main character Evie annoyed me at times, but I think it was because of the way she talked. She said "posi-tute-ly" and "friends for life-ski?" and just weird expressions but that was probably because of the time period. Another thing that bothered me was the relationship of two characters (I won't say who because I don't want to spoil anything) because it was kind of insta-love-y. One moment they were indifferent and the next they were in love. But other than that I really enjoyed the story, although I think it could've been cut a bit shorter. 4/5 stars
