"In this fresh and funny teen mystery, seventeen-year-old Millie joins forces with her classmate, gorgeous but mysterious Chase Albright, to try to find out who murdered Coach Killdare.

Putting the dead in deadline
To Bee or not to Bee? When the widely disliked Honeywell Stingers football coach is found murdered, 17-year-old Millie is determined to investigate. She is chasing a lead for the school newspaper - and looking to clear her father, the assistant coach, and prime suspect.

Millie's partner is gorgeous, smart-and keeping secrets
Millie joins forces with her mysterious classmate Chase who seems to want to help her even while covering up secrets of his own.

She's starting to get a reputation…without any of the benefits.
Drama-and bodies-pile up around Millie and she chases clues, snuggles Baxter the so-ugly-he's-adorable bassett hound, and storms out of the world's most awkward school dance/memorial mash-up. At least she gets to eat a lot of pie.

Best-selling author Beth Fantaskey's funny, fast-paced blend of Clueless and Nancy Drew is a suspenseful page-turner that is the best time a reader can have with buried weapons, chicken clocks, and a boy who only watches gloomy movies…but somehow makes Millie smile. Bee-lieve it."

Buzz Kill by Beth Fantaskey was a really enjoyable book. The characters were well written and the story was very interesting. I really liked the Nancy Drew vibe this book gave off. There were some unexpected twists and I did not expect the murderers identity. I really thought I knew who it was, but I was so wrong.

I really liked Millie because of her determination and her personality in general. She seems like someone I would love to be friends with. She really cares about her dad, and when Vivienne Fitch accuses her dad of murdering Coach Killdare, or Hollerin' Hank, she starts investigating the murder to protect her dad. While she is investigating, she runs into Chase Albright and they start investigating together. Chase is the star quarterback of the football team, pretty much fluent in french, has a very witty humour and loves foreign films. He comes off as a typical jock, but as the book goes on we learn more about him and his past. I liked seeing Chase's character develop, and open up to Millie and I just really liked both of them in general.

The romance in this book was really nice. I liked it because it wasn't "love at first sight" and we got to see the awkwardness at first between them and as the book progresses they became more comfortable around each other. I think this book was a great contemporary mystery and I would recommend it to any Nancy Drew fans or anyone looking for a cute romance mixed in with mystery!

*NOTE: The review you just read was kinda formal because it was for my local bookstore. Whatever you read under this is me fangirling over Chase*

Ok, so pretty much Chase is really amazing. His love for foreign films is really cute and dang he knows fluent french *heart eyes emojiis* I just really love him and his moments of sensitivity. He seems like a really caring guy and I want a second book just to read about him more, although the ending didn't really make it possible for a second book.
